I found this at a local thrift store but I couldn't figure out the name from ghe signature - I can see Philippe (bad photo; maybe Felippe?) , but I can't make out t the last name?
I'm hoping the art is nice enough that someone knows who the artist is?
Also, is it a painting (behind glass).
PS - it's still at the thrift store but I'm getting ready to go back & am hoping someone can help me with the signature while I'm still there (because tomorrow is Saturday & I have to hold my estate sale & won't be able to see it again till Monday!)
Thank you and have a great weekend!

I think 'Philippe Boudoy' is another interpretation of that signature. I suspect there are more.

Think I can see printing dots on yours JM. I usually take a loupe with me when looking at pictures.

I can usually see the dots if I stare at them blankly, go cross eyed and go into the zone. (Like looking at those 3D pictures that used to be popular) Loupe is great if I remember it. Also camera phone photo close up and then expanded reveals lots of detail. They might have poor lenses on them for zoom, but macro is quite impressive.

I wasn't sure, but it was pencil signed + behind glass, so I knew enough to wait till I could ask this forum!

Pastels and watercolours are usually behind glass though.
I’ve bought the occasional oil behind glass which is unusual.

When I was trying to decide whether or not to use glass when framing an oil, the info I found on line said not to use glass if you're not sure the paint is completely dry. Since my painting is 19th century, & New York air is grimy, I put it under glass. Seems to be doing just fine.
