hello, I found an antique violin from local estate sale. I did a research and it might be from the family of Carlo Antonio Testore, Milan. Please check atttcahed photos and let me know your opinion. IMG_0295.jpeg IMG_0283.jpeg IMG_0285.jpeg IMG_0279.jpeg IMG_0294.jpeg

Interesting violin, though it looks like it would need some work. It would need a bridge at least; and it could be mentioned that an amateur can't generally tell if the sound post is in the right place, or even present.
And labels often refer to instruments "in the style of" or reproductions of earlier instruments; or are even outright fakes. Your best bet for more info is to take it (and the bow) to a violin shop accredited by American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers - American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers. A good shop would recognize the violin's maker, or easily find it in their reference books; and a good bow by a good maker can be worth more than the violin it is found with.
See their member directory. (If you are outside the US, you may be able to find a local equivalent. Accreditation by the US federation is pretty much a guarantee that they will give an honest opinion.)
