What kind of wood are these statues please?

    At first I thought driftwood but now I’m not sure. Any help is very much appreciated!

    Ironwood maybe? It became "found art", whatever it was.

    In my experience, driftwood is usually bleached and burnt, by sun and the caustic salt of the sea. Unless it's been cut and polished, it's often faded and dull in color. Being in the surf makes it rounded and beat up. What you have here, since it's not sanded and stained, seems too 'crisp' to be driftwood.

    Wood found in freshwater, I guess, can be less damaged.

    I sit next to a piece of drift wood that I picked up on English Bay , Vancouver, Nov 5 1999.
    It's red cedar , and still has it's coffee & cream color.
    Cedar is known for turning greyish.......but only after a long long time out in the weather.
