@ola402 I’m conflicted about the orientation, because it looks like there’s a metal tread plate along one long edge, which you’d assume was at the bottom? But I prefer it the other way, with the face upright. Maybe it *was* an amusement ride as suggested earlier in the thread?

 

I had to do a google search… a definite resemblance!

When the photo is upside down it appears her hair may be resting on something. It reminds me of those picture taking opportunities like they had in Niagara Falls where you sat in a barrel with a large screen of the falls behind you.

 

Another thought - there’s some directional motion blur, which implies a hand held camera in low light conditions?

 

I was wondering if it could be a "Rosie the Riveter" type of thing. That might be a gun turret she's sitting in, or maybe the front of a jet turbine.

Did you happen to see this long biography of Bill Lawrence, Zilpha's husband? He had a long career as player and coach in the minor leagues. Just a brief major league appearance.
