Have had this for sale since mom's passing. Started at $25 and no interest. Dropped it to $10 and still nothing. This year at my spring garage sale, a woman offered $5 and I took it. There was the pot and lid, and 4 cups and saucers. The mark indicates it was made by the Takito Company of Japan.

That's a sign of the times. My dad's mother would have loved it, but these days...no joy.

Been though that. Many of my mother's beautiful dishes went the same way. That is a beautiful set, hopefully it will find a good home.

I have had some luck gifiting these sets. If I have a visitor (often workmen) who admire my collections I often gift them something. If they tell me their wife collects or enjoys such items they may find themselves going home with a chocolate or dessert set. Often they're thrilled to be able to bring something nice home even when I tell them it has minimal value beyone being old and pretty.

Such things are still used and treasured in other parts of the world. If the gentleman's wife was from one of those, I bet she was thrilled.

I remember back in the day when all the estate sales immediately sold those kind of sets. Glad you sold it.
I gave my super all of my Fiesta ware a few years ago. I sold much of it and then the market tanked so it was fine to have it move on. His MIL loves it.
