image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg I found this chair and thought it looked like a good project. I would like to know more about it. It appears to me that it has been shortened and wheels added, although the caster's are quite old. Copper appliqués are unusual. Thanks in advance.

That is very cool, Jeff! But why do you think it was shortened?

That is a wonderful Arts and Crafts period quartersawn oak chair. Probably about 1900 - 1910. Not sure if it is American or not with that metal detailing. Unusual for an American chair but not unheard of.

I think the castors are original to the chair.
Chairs were not necessarily that tall, neither were people.
