Something i bought off my house clearance friend,

thought it looked silver (though no visible hallmark) and liked the look of the denmark mark

tests very conclusively as sterling (no question)

can't quite work out what its for though, some suggest a cocktail shaker though i'm not convinced

handle is actually plastic and the bar i think chrome plated (or the likes)

worked out a game where i place a pingpong ball on my bed and a vase the other side of the room

.......haven't got it in yet though (crap)

also on a halloween note.......i saw a face in the towels when coming in and going for a widdle.

As Kyra has already said, it's a drink chiller, a mid 20th century novelty item (not that chillers aren't still made, I have plain ones in stainless steel) - and really no question that it's silverplate rather than sterling. Sometimes the plating is thick enough that to get to the base metal in testing, a deep scrape would be required - but no reason to disfigure this item, Frigast or any other manufacturer would certainly mark sterling or other fineness silver as such.

totally agree with what you have said cheryl, and it makes perfect sense that it should have a hallmark

......................but when i test, i test deep for that specific reason

must have tested over 500 pieces before and know the difference between a plated result and a silver one

with plated the slight red (if any) disappears in seconds

i'll fine tooth comb it tomorrow

random...... but with no metal marks...... it's hard to state 925 for certain... imo

If silver, this would be the first 20th century Danish silver item I have ever seen that isn't marked as such.
Danish items are excellent quality, and their silverplate items are likely to be thickly plated.

Should I go and hide now?:shy::bag::kiss:
