Point me in the right direction with this bronze or Brass sculpture/figure?

I was hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction on this sculpture.

It appears unnamed any I located no foundry remarks. It’s approximately 35 pounds and about 16 inches high. It is bronze or brass I guess (nonferrous). It was purchased in the 1970s by a family member that has no additional information on it.

If anyone has any idea where to start research or has seen any of this similar type of art, please push me in the right direction. Thank you very much for your time. CM

Ok, I do see something on the back. It is very hard to make out. I will have to clean it with water and a toothbrush; take pictures and magnify it. Spending hours on the internet did not yield much on this artist. It appears he was a painter and did a few sculptures. BOOBIS-CHANIN
