It is also turquoise. European turquoise can be real green as well as the usual turquoise colours, and antique turquoise can turn a bit more green.

 

That is such a lovely idea that as it ages it turns a little bit more green.

 

@Any Jewelry, did you see the faint letters off to the far right of the STERLING stamp?? I've tried to enhance them a bit......but I do see 'AZ' I think clearly and something after that......there could have been something in front of the A in AZ........and the ring is LOVELY ANYWAY!!!!!!!

 

Yes, it is like maturing. Red coral turns to a gorgeous salmon with age, much sought after here in the Netherlands. My preferred coral colour too.

Lovely! Makes me wish I could go back to Europe. I haven't heard of Amsterdam School jewelry before, so now I'm going to research it

 

The Amsterdam School is a Dutch design movement related to the Arts & Crafts movement. It went on in the Art Deco period.
The designs were inspired by the sea and by Javanese designs. They used a lot of coral, an old Dutch favourite, which is how I found the ring.

This brooch is Amsterdam School. I have a few pieces as well, but much more humble than this one:

Yes they are. And in this case you have to pay for the style period as well, and for the name. Both of the brooches I showed are by Fons Reggers, one of the most famous designers.
I have a beautiful Fons Reggers brooch, but it looks more Art Deco-ish than true Amsterdam School.

Reggers was actually from my part of the Netherlands, Brabant, but he moved to Amsterdam when he became better known. There was more money to be made in Holland, where Amsterdam is.

 

Re the new avatar: I see a luxuriously fluffed gold cat with a highly decorative tail. He has just dropped his mouse, but will catch him up before he hits the floor.

The outline of the lady did not show until I enlarged the whole thing.

Splurged a bit on this today at $38. I think it's my first ZW piece, if it is a ZW piece. 2 3/8 inches long, 1 inch wide.
