Featured 1930 Japan Railroad Souvenir Travel Guide

Found this lovely 6" by 9" book printed by Japanese National Railways 1930.Seems to be bound in hand-tied jacquard silk (?),64 color photos & fold-out map.
PS-What I wouldn't give to find a trunk full of vintage Ainu Fabrics (5th pic down) !

the first one sort of works like an illusion to make her look like a tiny wee pixie amongst some weeds

love the bottom one as well

 

That Bog Rhubarb is huge-it does def make her look like a mini Geisha fairy !
Here's another pic featuring some 'goodies' on my wish list-antique Japanese Temple lanterns (you can never have enough !).
PS- Guessing not all the female farm workers dressed like that.

 

The motifs on Ainu Fabrics (Japan) remind me of the patterns on ancient Chinese Shang Bronzes,similar linear rhythms.
Could just be me ?

Almost 100 years after the above pic (in the RR book) was taken the lanterns remain at Kasuga Shrine.
