Recently purchased this cute little pottery vase from a local estate sale. It is brown in color and has an interesting texturing / surface design and the dimensions are: 9-inches (h) x 6-inches (w), but what I assumed is a maker's / designer's mark on the bottom is the most interesting aspect and I cannot find ANYTHING about it. Any ideas out there, please? THANKS in Advance! :) POTTERY - ARTISTIC SMALL VASE 9 H x 6 W - 2.jpg POTTERY - ARTISTIC SMALL VASE 9 H x 6 W - 5.jpg

I don't know whether the ikebana image suggests you should look for a Japanese maker or for someone who is inspired by Japanese culture.

Inspired-by Japanese. My guess would be western studio pottery.

Japanese inspired, not necessarily Japanese IMHO. The design on the pot is actually impressed -- the "bubble" design is the same in each iteration. From the impressed mark on the base, it is likely studio pottery. Sweet.

I was wondering if the small chop looking mark on the bottom might be initials but I have no idea. Perhaps in person they are more defined.

(Looking at your profile location, if it's correct, then you are literally just a couple miles from me. )
