I wonder if anyone has come across the keyring before. Both pieces are hallmarked. I presume the RV was added later and is the previous owners initials. Correct me if I am wrong, but the hallmarks appear to indicate Sheffield, 1994. As to LL, I don't have a clue! Google lens pulls up pages of a Tiffany keyring that is very similar. The total weight is 15 grams.

As always, thanks to all who chip in!

    With warmest regards,

The Fob is Sheffield and the ring is Birmingham.
    A marriage of sorts.

Both 'LL' and both 1993, yet one Sheffield and the other Birmingham. Curious.

A marriage. Which explains which the two elements do go together visually.

I haven't been able to find any LL items with the rectangular fob.

The 'LL' is a sponsor's mark, the entity responsible for quality and fees, while often a maker's mark, it can also be a retailer like Links of London, an importer, or wholesaler. This company had their mark registered at London, Birmingham, Sheffield, and Edinburgh assay offices, and a manufacturer would have use of their punch, the item stamped prior to assay - would suggest that the two parts were produced for LL at different workshops. Links of London did quite a few corporate gifts, since the 'RC' appears to be stamped rather than engraved, might look into it being a logo...

    Spot on Cheryl.

It’s absolutely not a marriage, these key rings were sold in the tens of thousands as gifts. Links is simply the branding.

it might be a logo, it looks vaguely familiar, but they did offer these with monograms.

Given its complexity of design, may well be a corporate logo rather than a monogram.

It ought to be a British logo, if that's what it is, but I can't think who. It's a dogtag fob and they called them Key Keepers.

Sorry. I wasn't clear. The RV logo from that period when Art Nouveau was a design influence.

They did some travel stuff, Concorde and all that, and VSOE as well. I'm still pondering.

Definitely a corporate logo. Such things turn up here made for smallish firms, and without more to go on sometimes you never know whodunnit.

They weren’t cheap to have done, three figures from memory.
