Google images is telling me that this lamp is art deco. To me it seems newer. Like maybe 50’s or 60’s. But I really don’t know. The lamp is quite heavy, the glass shade also has a bit of weight to it. So what do y’all think 20’s 30’s? 50’s 60’s? Or not enough photos to tell?

As always thanks for looking!! And for any and all replies!!

Well, it's not Art Deco, that's fur sure. No marks? Would/could you post a photograph of the cord and plug? And does the shade look original to you? (Fits snuggly, etc.?)

That's interesting. A Google Images search brings up lots of similars. Some are indeed Art Deco. But the base of yours doesn't appear to be.

IMG_8756-compressed.jpeg IMG_8755-compressed.jpeg The shade does fit quite snug. And also feels textured, which I forgot to mention earlier. The cord looks mid century to me.

I agree, there is no Art Deco styling in the figure.

Could it be a marriage from two different times? An early oil lamp converted to electric with a newer glass globe? Stylistically, they do not seem to fit. (I have no expertise in lamps.)

I would call the figure neoclassical. A search for 'confetti glass lamp shade' turned up one that is more for an oil lamp. Seller doesn't venture an age:

Since she already has that urn on her shoulder, I find piling another object above it a bit strange. With the globe she looks like Atlas.

Think this could be as early as the 30s. Shade is typical Czech from the period. Since an oil lamp with the same figure has been found, it is entirely possible that it is a conversion using the same figure. Whether this was done by someone after the fact or by a lamp company using older parts, is hard to tell. Since the oil lamp uses a heavy stone base and this a hollow metal one to accommodate the switch and wiring, I am leaning toward the latter.

Do not get me started on the nonsense end of day term. ;)

It’s spatter glass and I’d agree on twenties or thirties Czech on the shade.
