The stamp sister site seems to be taken over by spammers, so hopefully there are some collectors here (@Lavrentii) who can help me with these items that I bought today (with a lot more stamps...)
Among a few more first day issue stamp envelopes, where these two:

    upload_2025-11-23_1-30-30.png

A Dutch envelope, with stamps from Paraguay, and signed?! Is it normal/common to have foreign stamps on a first day issue envelope? And why would this be signed?

And the collection included these 2 sheets:

These aren't perforated. Is this just a print of a stamp sheet, or is this a imperforate proof sheet?

The envelopes were a collab or cachet envies; the two postal systems put out a joint issue or a sort of souvenir, from the looks of it. The USPS has done the same thing a few times. Sometimes two countries put out the same stamp design at the same time. They're put on First Day envies and cancelled by both countries and sent out to buyers. Cachet covers are created as souvenirs. The cancellation isn't that important, and the envelope has a special design on it or special writing. These are in Dutch, English in German; what's odd is they're not also in Spanish.

I don't think that's the case with these envelopes/stamps, as I can't find any link between the Paraguayan stamps an any Dutch stamps.
    Just Dutch and English :)

I found a post of someone on Facebook saying that he had stamps that were signed by the designer. I wonder if that's the case with these signatures as well. But I haven't been able to find any info on who designed these stamps, to see if the sig matches the name.
I found a Dutch stamp forum. I'm going to post the envelopes there and see if they can tell me more about them.

And Google Lens shows one of the sheets (the one with the red arrow), and it links to a FB page, but after scrolling down for many minutes without finding the message that contained that sheet, I gave up...:(

That's weird. Why put Paraguayan stamps on a Dutch envie? The only other thing that makes sense is someone mailed themselves home a souvenir, or would ..but I think the postmark is Dutch too. I still think it's some sort of chachet envelope, but we don't know the story.

Not my subject at all but... Those Paraguayan stamps were issued in 1967 and the Dutch stamp referred to on the envelope was issued in 1981. And the Paraguayan stamps commemorate the centennial of the War of the Triple Alliance (1864-1870) which had nothing to do with the Netherlands. Strange. What does the postmark read?

    Very strange indeed.

Usually these first day envelopes have a special postmark, but this is just a regular postmark. And I wasn't able to read it before, as some parts are missing, but now I've checked it again, and managed to figure out that one part is: Alphen a/d Rijn - Concertweg
    1

Alphen aan den Rijn is where I live, and the Concertweg is just a 5 minute walk from where I live. There no longer a post office there, but I've read just now that there was temporarily one there, but I can't find the exact address (that '1' on the postmark isn't part of the address) or date info (only 1974 is mentioned).
The date on the postmark is only partially visible/legible. I think it says: 26 IV 1[...]7

Based on the pic and date on the envelopes, the stamps that should have been on them, are these

    Weird...

And if the NVPH can't help me, then I'm going to visit a store here in Alphen, as they might have more info regarding the post office.

One part of the mystery seems to be solved:
According to the NVHP, these envelopes used to be sold without stamps. Apparently someone bought empty envelopes and placed the Paraguayan stamps on them.

It's still a mystery how the Dutch postmark got there, as these envelopes have never been used, and it wouldn't have been possible to use them in the Netherlands with these foreign stamps. (Fake postmark? Mishmash created by someone working at the post office?)
