Featured Cool hammer

    Any and all comments about this shiny $3 hammer will be greatly appreciated.

    Just under 12" long (c. 29cm)

    Is it iron/steel/magnetic? It looks like it has been "polished" with a grinder.

    Yeah-- I think you're right.

    Def magnetic. And heavy too, so maybe iron.

    carbon steel , could crack like that under extreme circumstances

    New, it would be a hand-drill.
    I doubt blacksmith tool...but perhaps a planishing hammer?
    Hard to say, with all that surface abrasion...tsk.

    I think it is just a short, all purpose sledge hammer. We have one such in our tool box.

    Nice single jack. I always rub in some linseed oil and let sit for a week when the wood is dried out like that.
