    The BBC article explains -
"The primary destinations for smuggled rhino horn remain the same; the largest markets are in China and Vietnam. [While] the market for medicinal rhino horn - believed by many to be a cure for a range of illnesses, from rheumatism to cancer - seemed to have reduced somewhat... owning rhino horn - particularly for wealthy men in Vietnam - is also seen as a status symbol. It's about power - about showing off your wealth. It's been called the Ferrari factor - having something says you are wealthy and that you're untouchable [by the law]."

Yes, I understand. I apologize, I thought the comment was directed at me. I browse this market as an observer, looking at old or supposedly rare items, or pieces whose owners claim they are rare or unavailable, and I research them in my own way, like this one. Unfortunately, some wealthy buyers do not care about the price at all, or they trust the seller to such an extent that they purchase immediately, without even negotiating

Thank you very much for the clarification! As I mentioned, the seller claims that it is made from all the different colors of rhino horn. Of course, I am aware that rhinos are endangered, and that some species are already extinct. Once I heard the price, I took photos and asked about it, because deep down I knew it was not genuine. The real issue was the price. If the seller were open to discussion, I would have told him the truth, but these sellers only want a buyer, not someone to correct them. In fact, they often respond by attacking or belittling anyone who challenges their claims.

I believe that very few people in my country are aware of the value or significance of this item, as this type of wildlife and poaching does not exist here, and we do not have wilderness areas like those in Africa where rhinos are found. In my personal opinion, only a very small number of people in my country have this knowledge, and they truly need an expert or someone experienced in dealing with such materials to properly assess this type of necklace and similar items.

Lol, if someone asks, I’ll tell them. But generally, no one browsing the market is that wealthy. People with real money order these things privately, away from the public eye, so they don’t get stolen in the crowd.
