Saw this at a shop yesterday, and didn't know if it was an older better piece,or a new item w/ a bit of touristy aging.
It's abt 6' long and in a lovely black bamboo frame under glass-asking $45. Lot's of new airport art versions of it online, and I just don't have he eye to judge.
    PS-Any/all input welcome !

It's not my style. They don't look like plastic sequins, but actual metal discs. That's as far as I get.

Thanks Ruth-That's as far as I got too.I recall scads of Indian wall hangings being sold in the 60's. Didn't know sequins were so old-
'Sequins made with nautilus shell were found dating back 12,000 years in Indonesia.Evidence exists that gold sequins were being used as decoration on clothing or paraphernalia in the Indus Valley as early as 2500 BC, during the Kot Diji phase.Solid gold sequins sewn into royal garments were found inside the tomb of Tutankhamun.'
I'll never think of Liberace,Elton or Cher the same way again.

Waterlilies for sure. The couching/metallic thread could be 60s for sure, but I recall it being used on fancy European clothes in the 18th century. So...???

I have a pair of framed Kalaga elephants that my grandparents left me. They bought them in Portland, OR in the 1930s before my mom was born.

I've known a few guys who would have worn it. Let's just say they weren't shy, retiring types.

It's like West African womens' clothing. A woman with the right attitude can go strutting down the street in a green and purple shirt with a yellow and blue skirt and pull it off. I'd have someone calling the Old Clown's Home saying one of the ones with dementia had gotten loose again. :clown::clown::clown::clown::clown::p

Chas-The caps gotta bit of the 'Boy' look to it.
@laura9797 the older ones I saw online weren't cheap, though they may indeed be manufacturing new ones now for interior decor use.
