Help ID signature on mid century painting

    Was wondering if anyone might know the artist on this mid century painting? The first name appears to be maybe David but cant decipher the last words. Thank you for any information

    Perhaps- 'David 1957', it looks like '1737' but it's most def not 18th Cent. It's MCM Vermilion Ben Hur on steroids. The date looks a little stylized Hebrew.
    PS-Saw the movie in 1959 in a huge 30's movie palace-perfect fare for an 8 year old boy !
    They had a couple life size chariots in the lobby-WOW.

    Artists think they're being so clever with signatures. They think they're going to be so famous everyone will immediately recognize their style and garbled siggie.
