Hooks and sunburst design might pass for Edwardian and/or Art Deco, Except the rest looks much earlier. The back is nearly black from ageing in time. Doesn't appear to be altered. Would be great to know if photos suggest it is likely all original, and if so what decade(s) from history and era design is it from. Could it have a likely country of origin? Thanks for any input. 56" wide 64" tall. IMG_5310.jpg IMG_5305.jpg IMG_5311.jpg

Oak, circa 1890, likely English. Do you have the rest?

Having raised panels, beveled mirror glass and quarter sawn oak, it's just a really nice piece IMO. upload_2025-12-22_10-4-11.jpeg

No I only have the useful top half which I use. Your 1890 estimate not a surprise. But I failed to find another that had at least one similar with 3-band curved hooks, or, the 2 sunburst motifs (at least I see sun rays), and, the rail - never saw another. The fan-like sun rays and 3 banded metal items do appear in mid Aesthetic Period accents - watch fobs, advertising items etc. (I have an 1870s wood coffee box ad with a fans of sun rays) I was surprised google could not replicate at least one such feature in its data base of hall trees/mirrors. Leads one to think this piece is quite an anomaly, or I need a broader search. Or, there were a lot of one of kindrers made out there. Thank you for the help.

With "sun rays", are you referring to the carvings at the top corners of the central mirror? My eye reads that as a floral design.
