This could just be an ordinary, mass-produced glass vase or something more. It belonged to my parents, so it must be “Vintage.” When I used Google lens, I found comparisons with many different vases from designers of different nationalities, seemingly new/contemporary to MCM. None are an exact match. The closest I found were an “Oslo Vase”(on French Etsy), a “Dylis Recycled Glass Vase”(new), and “Cylindrical Design Glass Vase…Supposedly made by artists of glass factory De Rupel in Boom, Belgium” (no dates given on any). I have no idea…

(My parents lived in NE Ohio, Shropshire in 1970, South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, plus my Dad had business trips all over-USA, Europe, Africa. So that does not narrow it down.)

Any chance this is writing on the bottom?

That is AMAZING that you could see that! Thank you.

I cannot tell if these are tiny scratches or writing. My "new" eyes (after cataract surgery) cannot make it out. I am recharging the batteries for my camera & will take pictures to enlarge. I will post the pictures as soon as I can.

(Alas, my camera is old for digital & basic, no macro-lens setting. I am not a photographer--just point & shoot.) Maybe this is why I never find glass "signatures." They are too tiny for my eye sight.

Incidently, the photos make it look like there is opaquity near the bottom of the vase, like water damage, but it is actually clear. So I need to retake the photos.

I will add that to my "close but not identical" list.

    Interesting! I like it.
Sorry, I'm no help, I just wanted to suggest a denture tablet or vinegar/baking soda to clean the bottom. It has that "sick" glass look.
    What size is it?

Note that the Riihimäki example has a very thick base. Yours appears to be thin, like the rest of the vase.
