    Continuing with the Eastern theme. I found this yesterday. It's by Ridgways and old derby pattern. A nod to Royal Crown Derby methinks.

    I initially thought it to be a sugar bowl but am now thinking that it could be a small tureen. Either way, I can't find a similar example online.

    Ø=13cm

    It was a worthpoint search. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't:)

    Ah okay. I'll try that some time. Might be worth a crack with other auction web sites too.

    Very nice!
    These double-handled covered cups with saucers are often called a covered bullion cup set. A search using those terms turns up quite a few examples.

    Yes, I agree, covered bouillon cup and saucer. I used to have a collection of them by Haviland. Sold them all when the prices shot way up.

    Thanks for the info. When I was listing it last night I noticed that the under plate has been restored. A big chunk out of it has been glued back on.. you can see a faint outline of it and the area does not have any crazing like the rest of it so looks like it's been sprayed.

    It's very striking. It leapt out of the cabinet into my arms.
