I started selling again to downsize. So what did I do? Bought some more.

 

We have a slang-以藏养藏- literally means selling part your collection and upgrading the collection with that money

 

That is exactly what I am doing, but I am not supposed to. I want to downsize, but then there is that auction with that one piece I have been after for years, with very few bidders. And then another one....

 

thinking the piece must have been waiting for years and decided to show up, when knowing you finally have the space ready for it

Now I need an excuse. I went out today and almost bought some beautifully engraved stemware...only I don't drink, and if I resold it to a dealer would I get my money back, and where would I put them if I had them.... The Leah Stein fox earrings in the case called my name, but not at the price they had on them.

 

We Chinese would love to call this fated it was destined to meet you!
