Featured Native American Baskets at Auction Update

    So today was the auction for those nifty baskets I posted a few weeks ago. A usual, the went above my budget of $14.25 per basket.....

    anyway, in order....

    1) sold for $1100
    2) sold for $975
    3) sold for $850
    4) sold for $875

    I feel your pain ! I have a $5 budget I just wont allow myself to go over and I often regret it ! I will stretch to $20 if Im really feeling it !

    Johnny- I can loan ya 20, or hell-make it a late Xmas present ! Still thinking bout you and that damn GW Russian spoon (in a FL GW !).

    If basket #2 is a $1000 basket, I gotta get in that auction! I have a couple of those!

    They don't sell for anywhere near that here. I guess Arizona is different.

    Last time I sold a pot it was an auction thru Rago Arts, wasn't disappointed.
    @vitry-le-francois can't recall-did you find them at a Thrift,Auction,Flea market ?
    PS-No specifics expected of course.

    I am not surprised by the prices, particularly if the labels included some attribution to a particular collector or museum. If a dealer bought them, I imagine they may (at least) double the prices. What country was this auction in?

    Sorry Vitry- Wish they would've been yours, or as an alternative-Mine. An extra five grand always comes in handy (escape cash !)

    oh, double for sure.......... at least
    even the Ute,,,, which is never as pricey as the others , but this one is as good an example as I've seen..

    On the other hand, now you know exactly the real market and understand that these are no longer just decor, but serious collectibles.
