Featured Small Impressionist painting, Japanese artist. Translation help and info?

Hello all! Picked this small Impressionist style painting up at auction a few months ago (wasn't expensive). I'm a little confused by it. The signature on the painting looks like "Yoshio" but the name on the back looks like "Y.Otatsme" Jan 1972. It was either painted for or given to Mr Max Gerke. I'm having a hard time translating the Japanese characters, one on the right seems to translate to "plum" so may a title for the painting of "plum trees" maybe? Any help with the artist or translation appreciated. It measures 9"L x 6.25"W. Thanks

 

Think the name on the front might be Toshio.

 

I like it-very energetic, a frame would work wonders-contain the frenetic surface and IMHO let the image have a bit of isolation to be viewed in.

I can see that Odachime & Otatsme could be phonetic renderings of the same name.

 

Tried all 4 combos, Toshio/Yoshio with Otatsme/Odachime, no go.

 

I'm in Alberta Canada, I got it from an auction house in Ontario.

Oh perfect, thank you! Often painted with Mount Fuji in the background apparently.

 

I believe there is a tradition of Japanese painters (maybe artists/artisans in general) going by different names. Possible they may be given slightly honorific names or it could be other reasons altogether. So it could be a tradition like that, or since it’s the 70’s it could just be a regular ol’ nickname. Don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure there’s something to it.

Edit: Maybe I’m thinking of Japanese print makers rather than painters. Possible someone else will come along to clarify.

 

It is Beautiful Elen. I think you have something special there. I was thinking the painting was older than the dedication and date on the back. Facebook has a lot of Japanese groups that would translate and Identify it.
