Its a Phillips so its a 1980's import.
    The original screws were slotted.

I knew the bloke that used to import them, he was Dutch, Edited due to the fact that he is still alive and trading, in fact I locked him up on more than one occassion.;)

He imported repro garden urns too.

Painted with natural yogurt and left outside in the damp accelerated the aging process to make them look old.

Thanks my good friend (and i mean that), lets hope for a year full of them ;) (and for everyone else as well) (ish) :playful:

i'm still on the look out for that one very good elusive piece ...............:watching:................and starting to wonder if they really exist :shifty:

but like the trotters it'll probably end up being some stamp thats fallen out of somewhere, found its way to the floor and somehow got attached to my bottom........then find it when the area needs a scratching after a roll over in the night

I read Little Black Sambo when I was a kid and really enjoyed it. I remember that he seemed like a happy, fun kid and not once thought anything about him being black. Part of the "innocence" of childhood, I guess.

Dunno if it's still a thing, but black Americans were buying "black Americana" pieces like the mammy jars, and the statues of black boys dressed up as jockies, etc.

What the EEEK types forget is that Sambo was Indian, not African-american. Those were tigers, not Florida panthers. He was also a little kid who got the better of something who thought he was dinner. I wouldn't try to sell it on the open market either now though, regardless.

The tabby thing on the bracelet indicates that gold it ain't. Once in a blue moon a sterling one pops up, but most are 18kgp, or just say Korea at best. The chains usually like magnets.

The sphere thing is labradorite as someone else said. It's a nice chunk of rock and I bet would sell for a pretty penny in a mineral show. The beads are neodymium/alexandrite glass. They're purple in natural daylight but turn light blue in fluorescent light.

yeah i kinda agree with the 18k thing, magnetic it aint.......but gonna have a little experiment going on.............i'm gonna keep the thing on and see how gold it really is.....so after a while here........you should all know tooooooooo ;)
