This nonferrous ring was inside a jar of marbles I bought a few years ago.

I was just going to put it on a translation page on redit because I thought maybe it was some sort of monogram, but looking at it rotated I'm almost certain it looks like a left facing figure with a hat/helmet holding something.

Does this remind you guys of anything?
    Thanks.

First impression from pic #1 only was that it looks like an iron Roman soldier's ring. But then I read 'nonferrous' & saw pix of it from the side. Construction looks modern & seems to have been cut off a finger that outgrew it, using modern tech.

I tried fiddling with photo of the intaglio, including flipping it so the image would be seen the same way as the impression it makes. Don't know if this is the right way up, but it's the orientation that looks more like 'something' to me.

Sometimes taking an impression helps to see what's really going on.

I had misplaced it, but found it today, it definitely has no iron in it I tested it with a hard drive magnet.

It was not cut it's cracked, I can tell because it's jagged and not a straight line, and if you squeeze it it meshes together perfectly.
I have used a jeweler's saw and nippers and know what both would do to it.

The gap is either because there was tension on it from when it was cast, or it spread from being forced open.

It looks like it's going to remain enigmatic.

I still think it might be useful to see the impression it makes.

Have you tried spot cleaning it at all? Wondering if it is blackened & corroded silver.

The intaglio does not appear to be armorial. For me it has a late Matisse quality to it

Could be an antiquity; could be modeled on one.

When I look at it in this orientation, I sort of gestalt a man on horseback:

Then, when I rotate it, I don't see it anymore:
