Featured Metal mounted pottery vase

    A friend of mine picked this up and asked me if I could identify it. The pottery appears to be Brush McCoy, Onyx. I suppose it could be something else, but it is a dead ringer for Onyx. I have also seen other decorated Onyx pieces in the past. I cannot identify the maker of the metalwork. Any ideas? I was able to find a similar vase via an image search (third picture). The source is from Live Auctioneers but, when I follow the link, I can't find the vase. These are the only pictures I have.

    Pretty piece. I think you're right about the Onyx pattern, btw, from my gigantic (hah) pottery experience.
