Own this cake fork and two marks on it . But silver mark 90% or plated . The text is Silfer or maybe silber (German silver name ) before the 90% mark . Any tips for me ? 2026_01_17_13_23_IMG_2207.JPG

90% pure silver as opposed to 925- Dutch perhaps?

Not sure whether it is relevant here but 90% is often used as a designation on pewter (as 90% tin).

    Agree.
It is not a Dutch silvermark.

Still saying Dutch especially after seeing the decor.

The decor is Dutch, but as I said, it is not a Dutch silver mark.

Dutch-themed items were often made in Germany or the US. My money is on Germany.

Such lovely repousse work. I bet you are correct with German. I did read that 90% could relate to the grams of silver used to plate an entire set versus just one item which could be why the acid tests aren't picking up pure content?

It is lovely, but it is die-cast, not repoussé. If you look at the back, you'll see it isn't worked from the back.

Ah....missed those added photos. So this piece was retailed in the Netherlands? Looks like they are still in business. Perhaps they would have more information. I wonder if there would have been a matching cake knife or something for serving?
