Handmade necklace in a bag of broken jewellery?

I bought a bag of broken jewellery from the charity shop for £1.50 (uk here!) and found this… a delicate necklace with a cursive E pendant. No markings that I can find. It looks handmade to me, and the small links are a twisted figure of 8. One of the longer links has broken at the solder point and it seems to have a silver tone core? The pendant and chain are different in their gold tones. Chain length 50cm, weight of whole necklace about 3.6g.

I’m wondering… how old might it be? Worth repairing or not? Potential worth? It’s staying with me for now, I’ve become quite attached to it!

The E looks custom-made. I'd check it for gold content. The chain was made in somebody's shed. I doubt it's gold, I'd think gold over brass, but the links are soldered shut to have it checked.

I should have mentioned that one of the long links is broken at the solder, and the core is silver tone. Non magnetic. I need to have it checked I think, if only for my own curiosity.

I'd definitely hit it with an acid test if I had it. It's probably a no-joy, but might be gold-washed silver.
