Featured 1870 Michigan Certification Letter re: 1857 Grand Rapids & Indiana RR map

    Sorry for the long thread title :shifty:.

    Apparently building this railroad took a long time in MI - started in 1857 and completed to Grand Rapids in 1870. This letter certifies that the map of the railroad route in hand matches the one signed by the Governor and Secretary of Michigan in 1857.

    My question is whether this letter would be of any interest, and to whom?

    It is written on a 9 3/4" by 16" piece of paper, which has been folded in half.

    Thanks for any help or direction with this.

    Rail nuts, ephemera nuts, Michigan history nuts, Grand Rapids area history buffs, Indiana history buffs.... My late father would have been all over it; he was a New Jersey kid, but the dictionary definition of railroad addict. Steam guys are thinner on the ground than they were, but there's a market for sure.
