Did you check what this type and 'quality' Kutani sells for overhere?:nailbiting:
On the upside, I like the handle on the demitasse.

I know the prices are low, but I didn't pay much for them. I was mostly curious to know more about the marks, as usually I only find this type of ware with the standard Made in Japan / Dai Nippon marks.

The 2nd reason for buying this :)

If you turn the first mark clockwise a quarter, it's a hastily written "Kutani."

I already had the idea that the second character was カ, but I'm still not able to figure out what the other character is. It looks a bit like the Mount Fuji symbol to me, but then I would be missing the second character to complete this set:

And the mark on the bowl?
Looks like 中 in a rectangle

I also like the handle which copies the London shape "kick" handle. The marks are definitely hasty, but not sure that they mean anything other than kutani. In the hierarchy of quality, these are in the cheap and cheerful quality, made for the western market.

Don't forget to call it geisha ware or geisha girl ware.

Marote is in the Netherlands, we don't use the term geisha ware.
And with the price of shipping and tariffs, it won't make its way across the Pond.;)

Still useful for potential expat buyers :) Or as promo text 'buy a mahjong set, get a geisha for free' :D

You never know, more US citizens are fleeing.... erm.... moving to the Netherlands now. I don't think they will be buying cheap and cheerful Kutani though.
That might work.:joyful: You could have problems if they take it literally though.
