I saw this glass bowl at an estate sale, and I was wondering if this really is Murano? Could only find an example on a Japanese exhibit website, where they attribute it to Francesco Toso Borella, but other Murano collectors disagree. Thoughts?

The scenes on the one that interests you are done en grisaille, a bit different from the gold leaf of the Japanese museum sample (which they say is a "sashimi tsubo" Huh?) In form they are certainly very alike. I have seen this sort of neoclassical decoration more often on German glass & pottery. What do the dissenters say?

Yours is lovely, but there are some differences in the decor - yours has the design inside the upper edge and the design around the scenes isn't as elaborate as the one komokwa posted. Then the difference in how the scenes were done as @Bronwen noted
Shame about the hole that was drilled into the base.
I don't know one way or another who made it, but the differences would make me question if it is a Borella piece - maybe when you get it you can post on the Glass Message board to see what they say

True , but maybe not all of the production was made the exact same..?

& that hole..... u sure it was drilled and not a cracked pontil?
