My great-aunt gave me these a long time ago. I was at her house and admired these in her china cabinet. She just took them out and gave them to me. I see they are marked in red block letters "JAPAN" which I hadn't noticed before. They are about 3 inches tall.

Another cat shaker set. Not very old as evidenced by plastic stoppers, just sharing. No manufacturer's marks, but a similar pair on etsy says Nantucket.

Marie - how are you faring apres-blizzard? Do you have power? I was at Friend's yesterday and that's all I overheard. Do you have power, is your driveway plowed, etc. Our generator died Monday night and didn't get fixed until yesterday morning. It was 49' in the house by that time.

Hi Bev, power came on last night at 7:00 (went out Monday morning at 6:00), the coldest our house got was 41 degrees. We have town water, gas for cooking and a fireplace. Luckily I got a 1/2 cord of wood this August so we have plenty. So we were in good shape.

For boardies who don't know what we are talking about, we got 8" of snow on Cape Cod Monday, but the problem was 70 MPH winds. Pretty much 100% of the Cape was out of power and in our town 50% still are 3 days later.

The snow would have been deeper but the wind blew it away. Our 1850 house used to have a fireplace, but it was blocked up some time in the 30s. We just got power this morning at 10:15
