I’m documenting what appears to be a unique, hand‑painted Caverswall Silver Jubilee campana urn from 1977, signed by R. A. Shufflebotham. After searching through auction records, museum references, and collector forums, I haven’t been able to locate any other one‑of‑one Caverswall prestige pieces from this period. I’m currently building a Caverswall Prestige Archive to record rare studio‑level works, and I’d be grateful for any historical insight, production background, or comparable examples that members may know of. If anyone has photographs, catalog information, or details on unique or limited‑edition Caverswall pieces — especially those connected to the prestige or studio ranges — I would really appreciate your input. General historical information about the company’s production practices in the 1970s is also very welcome. Thank you in advance for any guidance or material you can share.

Bernard, Was this one that was withdrawn yours, #643? https://denhams.com/antique-auction/september-2012/ceramic-glass-pottery/vases-urns
Dear Debora, many thanks for your valuable feedback. It seems that the urns were produced in quantity and maybe one with Buckingham Palace and 50 with Windsor Castle. I also understand that R.A. Shufflebotham joined Carverswall having worked at Minton....more to investigate.
Dear Bronwen, I purchased the Carverswall Buckingham Palace urn at an antique exhibition at the Norfolk coast around year 2017. I was not aware of the 2012 auction, thank you for the info.
https://firebrickart.com/chris-ryder-s-collection-roger-shufflebotham-rip-t747.html I have seen his name before. He was a very talented ceramic artist. You have a lovely vase. Welcome to Antiquers!
Dear Kentworld, thank you for the info. The vase has a prominent place in the living room amongst other UK memorabilia, a pleasure to the eye. A shame that the current owner (Halcyon) of Carverswall has not highlighted these glorious years of talented craftmanship on their website.
