This is a 2nd painting I found at my local thrift yesterday (along with the Samuel George Phillips pastel painting I asked about earlier), it is signed F. Idylle (also known as Jolylle or Idylle Falconi) who is famous for his big eyed children prints he did in the 60's & 70's.
But I can't find an example of a painting by him! Can anyone find an example? I have no idea what mine is worth?
Also, any thoughts on this painting?
    Thank you!

My thoughts? Could be reproduced in the dictionary above the definition of kitsch.

I'm laughing but it hurts! You don't think its a collectible because of how many of his children prints have sold?

There do seem to be collectors for his work. That appears to be an inventory number on the work's back. What else is written there?

    Sorry late
    These?
Sorry if a little blurry; I have to reduce to 20% to be able to post it.
    Thanks, Debora!

Looks like there's something written on frame at top too.

I don't know what kind of following this artist has. Sometimes these kitschy vintage pictures can have a fan base, not sure about this artist though. I think "collectors" are looking for even bigger eyes, lol.

One thought. This might actually be a print on canvas and over painted. Kind of a thing that was being sold on the market when this would have come out. I purchased a similar era DeGrazia painting at a garage sale a few years ago ($5) because it looked like an original painting, you could feel the textured paint on canvas, wood frame. Unlike the millions of prints, etc. DeGrazia art does have some resale value if it's an original oil.

It turned out to be a mass produced over painted print. I honestly looked like a painting. There is something about yours that has the same feel so you might want to check that.

I felt the paint ridges too, and it looks real to me - but who knows?

Bev aka thelmasstuff Colored pencil artist extraordinaire ;)

She looks like she's wearing too much makeup - I wouldn't call it 'big eyed'.
