    Hello,
I would like an evaluation of our 16-year-old Henredon table and 6 red leather side chairs. The table has an inlaid pattern, is 76"x 49" with two 24" leaves. The Henredon label is on underside, indicating it is style # 9802-20 or 2E (unclear handwriting). The chairs have nailhead trim around the seat and back.

Please note there are also two leaves that come with the table, although they are not shown in one of the pictures. Table is 76 inches long by 49 inches wide without leaves. Each table leaf adds 24 inches to length.

Quick question, did the chairs come with the table, were they made by Henredon?

It's a beautiful dining set. Henredon is one of the top brands. Several years ago formal dining tables fell out of favor as people started to go to the open kitchen concept which included a dining area. Formal dining sets went for next to nothing. I got a Henredon set which included a large buffet for just $80 at auction. I only wanted the buffet so the guy who bid against me paid half and took the table and 8 chairs. I hated the chairs but loved the buffet.

Now I hear that dining sets are coming back into favor. People again want to eat where everyone has a seat at the table. You are fortunate not only to have a beautiful large table, but also chairs that would appeal to a wide range of people. Your table is not "stuck in" any particular decade or style that no one wants.

We don't do valuations on this site but some here could give you a range. I'm thinking that you could ask somewhere around $2400 for the set, maybe more. I tend to go with a figure I would be willing to pay. The chairs alone could sell for $200/each. First, look on line for what new Henredon dining sets are selling for, then look for what sellers are pricing used sets for. Somewhere in that mix is your sweet spot. What price you ask also depends on your location. A larger city with more prospective buyers is always better than a tiny town where everyone is on a budget or happy to find period pieces.

Also, I'm assuming your set is in very good to excellent condition. Do you have table pads for it?
