I saw these Erte prints while at my favorite thrift store today, but none have the Erte signature?
The triptych print on the left has the following on the bottom left edge -
MC 7931 Erte 'Emerald Eyes', but none have hos signature, just like the 3 seperate prints.
The 3 seperate prints measure 15 x 20 (just artwork) / 24 x 29 (w/frame) - I bought those, but waited on the triptych because I didn't see any when I googled Erte triptych + I wanted to see what this forum thought of it?
They're asking $100 for the triptych and I paid $25 each for the single prints with matching frames.
    Thoughts on triptych?
Thoughts on the 3 I purchased?
As always, I appreciate your help & insight!

In the 80s, Ertè prints were white hot popular. My guess is these are prints of said prints.

I have only one Erte, an' haven't seen it n a decade or so,, 'cause it's deeply buried inna storage locker for want of adequate wall space to display it, which shames me, but...

I'll make an effort to bring it out into the light, shoot a few pics, an' show y'all. Meanwhile I think you did very well, an' hope you follow up on the triptych. Good Luck!

Think the triptych is worth the $100? (I buy to flip/resell!)
    Thank you!

I'd say "doubtful". They're reprints. My put-it-down walk-away price for the trio would be about $20, and even that I'm not sure about. Research current selling prices before taking action.

When you say "prints" do you mean original, fine art prints (woodcuts, etchings, engravings, serigraph/silkscreen, lithograph, monoprint, etc.) or reproductive "prints" (photographic or scanned reproduction)? The distinction seems to be muddled today. Some artists even have photographic reproductions made of their paintings or drawings, and then sign and number the repros and sell them as numbered prints. (Of course, photos are called "prints" too, and a photographer can legitimately make a a numbered series of their own photographic prints where each is an original, just like an original print in multiples.)

For me, the intention is important. If an artist creates drawings/sketches that are intended to become etchings, woodcuts, etc. the print is an original work of art and the preliminary drawings are preliminary drawings for the that print (just as for a painting or other single image work.) But a reproductive print is just a copy, not made by the artist.

So, what I am asking in this context, is whether your unsigned prints are serigraphs, lithographs, etc. or a good-quality photographic reproduction (usually mass produced for decoration.)

"Print" is a confusing word because it is used for so many (even contradictory) things in the context of art.

I have no credentials, JM...mine was a gift at the time of the closure of an old favorite bead store, by the proprietor, a lady of skill an' very eclectic tastes. It is framed, an' I cannot say whether it is anything close to an original, or simply a photo-reproduction. It is large, perhaps ~30" X ~24", iirc. Offhand I'll say $100 would be a real reach for flipping, unless of exceptional process and/or provenance. The three you posted at $25 each, 'tho...the framing couldn't be had for one of them at that $75 total...not that it'll make much difference on resale. Again, good fortune either way!

I still love Erte but thats the 80s baby in me. They only made a zillion of his stuff. It was everywhere.
