    Hello,

I bought this Chinese Mandarin Court Hat Finial from auction.
Please check the attached photos. Could anyone help to verify is it is made from authentic natural coral?

    Thanks or any comments. IMG_1659.jpeg IMG_1660.jpeg IMG_1661.jpeg IMG_1662.jpeg IMG_1664.jpeg IMG_1667.jpeg

    A. measurements please. B. can we see the underside? We have some real European and Momo coral experts around here. My first impression is glass. Even the one the Met has is glass. That said, it could be Momo, or even some exported from Europe very easily and I might get it wrong.

    A: The diameter is about 1 1/4"
B: The underside is capped with brass bottom.
I checked with hardness testing and found it is softer than glass (measure thermal conductivity )
