Made in France, possibly deco in era, can you make out the mark?

    Hi,
Probably a long shot but anyone recognize the mark? These are so nicely made. The stones are glass. Would they be considered gripoix? I don’t think the metal is any type of precious but I have not ventured to scratch them yet. I think they are genuine Art deco era. What are your thoughts?

    Thank you for any help

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I can read, in the rectangle, what looks like "MADE IN FRANCE", but that's all I can see legible.......they're a very pretty green though!!

The lozenge is a French maker's mark, usually seen on precious metals. But with the absence of a silver mark and with the heavy construction, I don't expect it to be silver.

Me either. I'd have been surprised if they were. Rhinestones glued into Sterling were a WWII-era occurrence, generally speaking. Here anyway.

I'd get it tested,,,,,,,,, they are really smart in design..... and it looks like a jewellers saw cut into the metal........

Not an expert but... To my eye, they look Art Deco in inspiration but not in execution.

I'd think barely Post-WWII Deco Revival from the hardware, but the stones at the hinge and the metal design in that spot... late 20s could be right. They would have looked great with a Louise Books-ish bob.
