THOUGHTS ON SMALL MID CENTURY ABSTRACT

    Hi all - I found this at a yard sale yesterday. It's smallish (17 x 13) but I noticed it right away & thought it catches your eye even with it's small size.
    Any ideas who Mayer is/was?
    And why would they sign in pencil on a painting?

    I doubt that to be MCM and pencil, perhaps..
