Seeking opinion on mark on base of ivory vase. Is it common for a mark to have only the name of the emperor? Also, would this vase be missing a lid or were they made without them? Vase indicates purpose, to me; display of floral an' foliage items. It may well have had a lid, or cover of some sort...which would seem to make it an urn, wouldn't it?
Either way, that's one helluva piece of ivory!

It happens. It is an honorific mark, not of the period and not related to the imperial workshops.
Ditto, the blobs are glue, so at least two pieces. I suspect the base is a separate piece too, out of necessity.
