Help Identifying This Display Case

Hello. My wife and I purchased this piece at an auction. We were told it is English. Other than that, we know nothing about it. Can anyone tell us something about it.

Thanks, we like it. Renovating a house and it will sit in the main hallway. I just checked the bottom and the back and there are no markings.

 

My guess is English or French, second half of the 19th century, but not my area of knowledge.

 

Very nice, unfortunately not my area of interest either, i know just enough about european furniture to get me in trouble.
Guesses late 19th early 20th century, nice that you have the key to lock. It doesn't look English to me.

Could very well be English, with that unusual emphasis on pattern, despite the French look of some of the artwork.

I'd go with late 19th as well.
