I've recently found this book in an ancient tomb. Does anyone know what this book is?

need more pics to see what you have.... it's Hebrew writing .... but....

... Hebrew writing had almost no punctuation until European printing presses changed everything. Christian scribes working with Latin developed systematic punctuation, and Hebrew followed suit in the 19th century.

Welcome Bob. As komo said, the script is Hebrew.
I suspect that is old or historic, rather than ancient? Ancient is applied to Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece etc.
Where was the tomb? Country or region, not necessarily exact location if you'd rather not say, although I do hope it was legal.

The illustration is a woodcut. In case of a copper engraving there would be an impression of the copper plate.

Can you shine a light behind the paper? There should be a pattern like this if the paper is made before roughly 1850 (laid paper).

This book was found in an ancient tomb in a Middle Eastern country. I can send more videos and photos if needed.

Just to be clear: the book you showed is not ancient, but probably from the period 1750-1900 AD. Stories like ‘found in an ancient tomb’ make me very suspicious.

    Re: "ancient", AI says:

    Relative Age:
    • In Europe: Buildings or objects are generally considered ancient if they pre-date the Middle Ages (pre-500 AD).
    • In the Americas: "Ancient" often refers to pre-Columbian societies, sometimes dating back only 500–1000 years.
    • In Asia: The term often applies to civilizations over 2,500 years old.

Did you buy it as an ancient book? Was it from a legitimate seller? When you say it was found in a tomb, all I can think of is tomb robbers and illegal sales. I'd need legal provenance before I bought something like this.

    No
No, I didn't buy it and I don't even know what era it is from or what its content is, but I have a video of it, if needed, tell me how can I share it.

I believe you have received some good leads already on what the book is, and its probable age.

But most members of this forum will be less than receptive about any object removed from an "ancient tomb", unless it was recovered during an authorized/legal excavation.

It's old, but if it's made of paper and was printed on a press it's not an ancient book.

If you have additional photographs, would you be king enough to post them? The binding and the title page would be especially helpful.
