Help !

I would like some help to identify this picture. I don’t know how old it is or if it’s worth anything but the frame looks like it might be old. Let me know if you have info on this thanks

 

Shortguy, is it a photograph? Perhaps if you could provide some larger pictures, including the back, someone might be able to help...

I tried to make the picture bigger, but it blurred too much to really tell much about it.

 

Yes it’s a photograph. I’m more interested in the frame. I will post a picture of the back side as well

 

A closer view of the image is in order. It appears to be a "solar enlargement" (or similar technique) done in what was called "crayon" back then or possibly charcoal pencil. @Figtree3 knows a lot more about this sort of thing.

 

Looks like what is called a solar enlargement, crayon portrait, or [another name I can't remember]. In this case, the word "crayon" is used differently from the way we use the word today. Basically, these were drawn (and sometimes colored) over an enlarged negative with charcoal, colored oil pastels, or other methods.

Thank you that is some helpful information. I love it. From what I’m told the picture is out of Pennsylvania.
