    Hi guys!
How are you these days? I am looking for advice. I have tea set (all packed except one plate).
only plate holds impressed mark with anchor. I can’t find it, and never seen before. Could any one help me to understand who made it? Any thought are welcome.
There are few items with same mark on sale now. But they are not correctly described.
    Thanks.

I guess you mean the 'John Ridgeway' pieces. I wouldn't be surprised that at one point AI suggested his name, based on a description of the William Ridgway mark, combined with some other info it got from another site. And someone used that info on one item. And then all other sellers based their description on that info that now roams the internet...

Yes, that name) It is good I am checking everything by my own. I never trust AI such a thing. that’s funny - one mistake and all others are going to copy-paste it. Internet sometimes js such a silly thing in our life

Yesterday I was at a market, where someone had a glass item for sale. I picked it up, and she said it was Murano. I see no sticker, and on the base there's only a pontil mark. So I ask if she's certain that it's Murano, or if it's just Murano style (although it didn't look like Murano to me...). "Yes, I used Google Lens on it, and it said it was Murano" and she grabs her phone to use GL again and show it to me. "O, wait, now it says it's another maker" And Lens was comparing it to items that had a completely different shape from what she was selling. Only the colour was semi identical

What a good example. In my opinion GL was much better few years ago. For now mostly suggestions far away from real matches. Looks like they changed something and probably gave up a lot of work to AI engine. And it doesn’t work well now.
I work with AI pretty much, and it helps a lot. But very difficult to adjust all the prompts. For example - simple question “is there any records for Sampson Bridgwood & Son for using impressed anchor mark”? And answer is like AI is professor in antiques - “yes, but I think your mark is more likely blablabla”. And when I’m reply- I didn’t ask you about your opinion, just give me a simple answer to simple question, I’ve get what I want. .
By the way. Sampson Bridgwood & Son used anchor mark, very similar to mine. But still bot the same. Just anchor is pretty close.

So for now it looks like mark made of two marks)) I have a feeling the good reference is somewhere nearby. they both used impressed marks but not the same one
I have thought about German marks now… but don’t have catalogue in hands
