Military Document Box

    Hi,
    I'm guessing here, thinking this might be military. The handle has numbers 182, no other marks anywhere. Looks well made, is about 18"L x 10"W x 10"D. The leather strap has no buckle just 2 leather strips that tie shut. It is made of cardboard that is covered with something - I don't know the term for this.
    Any ideas or information appreciated.

    Probably just a mailing box for documents back in the day when they didn't charge so much for weight and containers were reused.
