Yeah I'm "Spring," and I'm either a refugee or an exile from the AB, take your choice. You know you've always wanted a nice cannon to dress up your den or rec room, so here you go:

Anyway, another member invited me here and I didn't have much to say, so I thought I'd link this ad here just to have something to post.

OK DD, no problem, I will gladly ship it to the nearest UK Sovereign Soil, which happens to be outside the British Embassy in Washington DC, about 15 miles from me. Hope that'll work in your case. SOS can forget my shipping it to Kaliforn-e, however.

and one other thing, the little circle-with-up-pointed arrow, off to the left, what do I need to do to get a larger arrow?

Thanks. In about 1995 I spent over 600 hours restoring it-the piece had been sitting in a man's yard for decades. One thing I remember is that after I had the armor shield completely cleaned, no primer or paint would stick to it, the steel was so hard and smooth, there was nothing the paint molecules could hang onto I guess. I had to get a special toxic potion to etch the steel so the paint primer would stick. Since the piece is "modern" and had to be registered with the gov't, the former owner called the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) to get that done back in 1968. The agents came out to do that and needed to write down the serial number, which is "3." The agents said that couldn't be a serial number for a gun, "you gotta have lots of digits for a serial number" even though "3" is stamped into every single part on the weapon, even each bolt, and the brass name plate attached to the shield. So the brilliant agents wound up taking down the weight of the weapon engraved on the barrel, "1810K" as the serial number, which still appears on the registration form and is the number "BATFE" as it is now called, still uses whenever they approve the paperwork to transfer it to a new owner.

LOL! Your tax dollars at work! I'd wonder if they were doing government jobs to avoid the draft, but these two don't sound that bright.

Spring, we're re-enacting the Battle of Rock Harbor in Orleans in August. One of the militia guys collects cannons. He'll be bringing several to our event. Should be fun. I'll think of you.:)

One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small, and the pills that Mother gives you don't do anything at all....

    "Nice old cannon for sale."

    Right.

    We'll call it Fluffy. :)

So glad you are here, Spring. I know nothing about those things which fire your imagination (heh, heh), but I DO love the phraseology!

I had a cat named Fluffy when I was about three. (what can I say - little kids aren't too creative) She weighed a little less than than the cannon. Cannons on the other paw don't shed, or go climbing up your jeans. Mashing your feet maybe....
