We really need to see the back. Also what size is it, is it painted on canvas or board?

As I said... always so helpful, when developing a critical eye, to compare and contrast paintings of the same subject by different artists.

I believe it’s from a British artist Eric F Rowe . Have not found out much about him probably from 1970 ish . One of his paintings sold for about £350 so not back for a car boot find

From what I'm finding online...Eric F Rowe's works dont appear similar to this...at least to my eye.

Yours is not a work by Eric F. Rowe. Yours is a copy of an old master and could very likely be a factory/decorative painting. (The clear difference in artistic ability between the two F. Rowe works supports this; they don't appear to be by the same hand.) The fancy, reproduction frames gives authority to these types of paintings. Imagining them removed from the frame makes it easier to evaluate as works of art.

Another Rembrandt copy. Advanced painting students often work on their skills by copying masters. I also saw Eric when I looked for F. Rowe & did not think this was his work.

The internet you say? Never heard of it.... kidding of course. I meant where on the internet, which site? Link?

I dont think it matters all that much as I agree with Debora and Bronwen that neither your piece nor the other F. Rowe piece are by Eric F Rowe.
