Hi, I bought this at a sale over the weekend and I am so GLAD to see we are up and running again. I was so worried. Anyway, is there any way to find out who made this or what the age might be? It is 6 1/2 inch tall and about 22 inch around the center of vase. Has anyone ever seen anything similar? Looks like it has a little age to it. Any info. would be great. It reminds me of Dona pottery from Vietnam. I think it's a vase, but, Bev, you go ahead!

Yeah I think it's a vase doesn't look to much like a spittoon. Thanks Janet I will have to research that.

It could be a lady's spittoon, about the right size. IMHO, adds age and could add a bit more value. To be honest, though, I don't know anyone who collects lady's spittoons.

Either way, my first reaction was, "NICE!"

Is there a lady spittoon society? :wideyed:

    Hi,
Most of the ladies spittoons I have had or seen were 5" high or so. A lady would be able to handle one. Any bigger and it would have been strange to "lug" around. Most of the ones 6" and taller were for part of a ladies "fancy" set.
