Is this a mission piece?

When I had a moving sale, a woman saw this and even though it wasn't for sale, she said it was a "mission" bookcase. She offered me $10, but that's one item I had a use for in the new house. She thought I turned her down because she offered a low price, but she added that $10 was her top price for any antique. She gave me a business card, so I know she was a dealer. She said to call her if I ever changed my mind. Did she know what she was talking about saying it was a mission bookcase? A few months after that, I saw one very similar in a charity thrift shop for $40 and it was sitting there.

It is confusing that it appears in blue like a link but, if you did click on it, it will just produce a small pop-up box with that member's info.

I've seen similar shelving units and never thought of them as "mission" so I'm curious to see what others say. It looks to be a handy size.

I'm also surprised at a dealer who has $10 as a top price for any antique!

    Hey @Deb D.

Heard that a horse stable was on fire in Saratoga. Was that anywhere near you?
    Many horses perished.

Offering $10 for that is ridiculous, at least where I live.

If someone low-balls me an offer like that, I politely say, 'Sorry, no thanks.' And we move on. Whatever their own personal rules for offers, that's insulting and should just be ignored.

It looks like homebrew to me. No through-tenons, and the ends have what look like bolts or some such. As for the "dealer" door's over there, sweetie. Use it.

According to the article, 17 died. OUCH. Those were somebodies babies, and people are often more attached to a house than their spouses.
